COVID-19 Information
Our team at Adams Heritage takes additional steps to ensure the cleanliness of our facilities. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the best way to slow the spread of viruses is to wash your hands often, stay home when sick, consistently clean high-touch objects, wear a mask, cover coughs and sneezes and keep six feet of distance from others.
Masks, Health and Safety Information
Visitors are no longer required to wear a mask at Adams Heritage unless otherwise advised by signs posted at the facility. If you are wearing a mask, face masks must cover the nose and mouth. Please call 260-623-6440 for questions regarding mask requirements.
Visitation
Adams Heritage recognizes the important role that family and visitors have in our residents’ lives. We will work with residents to allow visitation from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. These hours are flexible but are set to respect the rights of others and to provide quiet/private time for sleep and personal needs. The facility reserves the right to impose restrictions on visitations to protect the rights and safety of other residents in the facility.
In accordance with the CDC guidelines, Adams Heritage is following all state and federal regulations regarding COVID-19.
Vaccine Information
Staying up to date with recommended vaccinations is the best way to protect yourself from COVID-19. The vaccines available in the United States effectively protect people from becoming seriously ill, being hospitalized, and dying.
Authorized COVID-19 Vaccines in the United States:
- Pfizer-BioNTech
- Moderna
- Novavax
- Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen (J&J/Janssen)
Updated and Original COVID-19 Vaccines
- Updated vaccines are sometimes called “bivalent” vaccines. The updated vaccines protect against both the original virus that causes COVID-19 and the Omicron variant BA.4 and BA.5. Both Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna have developed the updated COVID-19 vaccines.
- Original vaccines are sometimes called “monovalent” vaccines. The original vaccines were designed to protect against the original virus.
- As of April 18, 2023, the original Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are no longer authorized for use.
- As of May 6, 2023, J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine has expired and is no longer available for use.
Getting Vaccinated If You Had COVID-19 Recently
If you recently had COVID-19, you may consider delaying your next dose by 3 months from when your symptoms started or from your first positive test.
The following factors could be reasons to get a vaccine sooner than later:
- Personal risk of disease
- Risk of disease in a loved one
- COVID-19 hospital admission levels
Making an Appointment
Hoosiers can register for the COVID-19 vaccine by going to ourshot.in.gov, then searching for a nearby vaccine clinic and selecting an appointment time. Appointments for the vaccine or booster may be made by calling 211.
Individuals 18 and older with an Adams MyChart account have the option to directly schedule a COVID-19 vaccine or booster at any Adams Medical Group primary care location through MyChart or by calling 1-833-724-DOCS (3627)
Indiana State Department of Health COVID-19 Hotline
Indiana State Department of Health has established a hotline for all health care workers and the public. Please refer all questions about COVID-19 to the following numbers:
