Adams Heritage Recognized with 2023 AHCA/NCAL Silver National Quality Award

[Monroeville, IN] – Adams Heritage has been recognized as a 2023 Silver – Achievement in Quality award recipient by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The award is the second of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which recognizes organizations that meet progressively rigorous standards of performance to further improve the lives of residents and staff in long term care. Adams Heritage was one of four Indiana communities to receive the achievement in quality award.

Natasha Graves, Administrator at Adams Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation stated, “our Adams Heritage team has worked diligently to receive the distinguished Silver Quality award through the American Health Care Association. Our team has pulled together to meet the rigorous standards required in order to receive the award, and I am very proud of their efforts. Every day our team lives up to our mission of providing extraordinary living where everyone is family. It is only in living this philosophy daily that such an award can be achieved. We are blessed that we “get to care for” our residents each and every day.”

The National Quality Award Program has three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. At the Silver level, recipients have met the criteria for the Bronze award and move on to evaluate and improve their processes, creating a systematic approach for all aspects of the organization that leads to positive outcomes and success. Trained examiners review each application to determine if the center has met the demands of the criteria. Silver recipients can now move on to the final and most prestigious level of the program, the Gold – Excellence in Quality award.

Data shows, Silver and Gold awarded providers outperform the rest of the nation. Adams Heritage has improved outcomes in key areas, including improved staff to resident ratios, reductions in antipsychotic medication use, hospital readmissions, and more activities tailored for residents. As a result, the quality of life for our residents continues to improve and helps the residents thrive.

“We are delighted to honor Adams Heritage for being recognized at the Silver award level,” said Cathy Bergland, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board Chair. “This recognition is a testament to their unwavering efforts in enhancing the lives of those entrusted to their care. Congratulations to the entire team at Adams Heritage for their outstanding achievement. Keep striving for excellence.”

The award will be presented during Delivering Solutions 23, the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo, October 1-4, 2023, in Denver, Colorado.
