A recently celebrated event by Adams Heritage residents was Senior Living Week where residents enjoyed a different theme, activity, and event each day.

Adams Heritage Senior Living Community celebrated Senior Living Week during the week of May 8-14th with a fun-filled schedule. Pictured are Heritage residents and staff, smiling for the camera and holding balloons, proud to be a part of such a loving community. The residents started the week with celebrating Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 8th. The Adams Heritage community loves and recognizes all the mothers who are part of Adams. Monday, “Sports Day” was a day encompassing all things for sports lovers. The residents were encouraged to wear their sports shirts of their favorite team and/or sport. Delicious hot dogs and chips were served for lunch in the dining room with a popcorn cart to follow. Residents ended their Sports Day by playing Wii Sports in Heritage Hall. Wii Adams Heritage Senior Living Week Sports is part of the Nintendo Wii Collection where game avatars compete in boxing, bowling, golf, baseball, and tennis.

Sock Hop 50’s and 60’s Day was celebrated Tuesday. The residents were thrilled to experience a “Blast from the Past” while wearing 60’s attire. Delicious milkshakes were enjoyed while music played from the jukebox!

Wednesday, the residents were taken to “Hawaii” for Hawaiian Day. Hawaiian attire was encouraged including grass skirts, leis, and Hawaiian shirts. The wonderful staff had a cookout for the residents where hamburgers on the grill were served followed by pina coladas. After the cookout, staff members and residents played friendly games of hillbilly golf, cornhole, and Yardzee! The outdoor games did not tire the residents out too much as they enjoyed playing UNO later in the day.

The residents were relieved when they discovered they would not have to change out of their pajamas on Thursday. The residents stayed cozy and comfortable in their pajamas while enjoying a coffee/hot cocoa bar in the afternoon. The fellowship at Adams Heritage is unmatched. Our residents love to visit with each other, creating a community full of friendships. Good coffee and excellent company make for a happy community! In the evening, the residents had an excellent time watching “Grumpy Old Men” in their pajamas. There is no better way to have a pajama day than drinking coffee and hot cocoa, followed by a movie.

Adams Heritage Day was celebrated on Friday where residents started the day with Breakfast Club bright and early at 7am. The residents enjoyed delicious pizza for lunch in the dining room. With a full stomach comes a happy heart! To officially close Senior Living Week, the residents were encouraged to wear animal or animal print shirts for Zoo Day on Saturday! Residents had the option to play fun games pertaining to animals such as, trivia & guess the animal sound.

The staff at Adams Heritage would like to thank the residents for being exceptionally energetic and involved during this week. We loved seeing your smiling faces and hearing your wonderful laughs! We are more than healthcare providers; we are friends, storytellers, and teachers, but most importantly, we are family.
